I am restarting this Blog which as been dormant for about 8 years. This blog will generally be a site for the posting of my personal artwork: using Watercolors, Pen and Ink, Urban Sketching and beginning Acrylics. I'll also add links to some of my favorite art sites and perhaps discussions of on-line and local area art/artists

From the chicken’s perspective she is a contributor to the project. However, from the pig’s perspective he is committed!

Illustration Friday Non Post :-)
OK, so I got lazy and didn't try one for the word this week, which was "Propagate". I promise I'll do better next week. However, click on the Illustration Friday link and take a look at some of the other artists renditions. Some of them are the hen and egg type of idea, but some push the envelope into synonyms of the word and expand their drawings on that. Very interesting!

IF - Muddy
OK, I'm stumped. Usually I try to get a drawing together over the weekend but either I was too busy (perhaps) or just couldn't put it together (more likely). There were all sorts of ideas: mud puddles, muddy road, kids in the mud, even a bridge over the "Big Muddy" Missouri River, but nothing tripped my trigger. Plus the mouse on the MAC has died so working with the scanner is on the fritz. Oh well maybe next week. We had 4-5" of new snow in the last 24 hours, very soft and fluffy, piled up on everything like mounds of whipped cream, very pretty. This on top of the 7-9" of ice and snow from the week before - which was on top of the 6-7" of ice and snow from 10 days before that. Roads a bit messy here in hill country but it will be gone in a week or so as early spring temps start ramping up and the Daffodils/Dogwood start blooming in early Mar. Looking forward to it for sure.

Artist's Registry
I've added in a link to the largest registry of artist in NW Arkansas. Many of these artists live and work in Eureka Springs Arkansas. As you will see, every possible medium and combination of mediums is represented. Needless to say when there is a showing in the area it is well attended and always a feast for the eyes and soul. I'd especially like to call your attention to the paintings by Zeek Taylor. His watercolors, using a unique dry brush method, are amazing. Enjoy.

Illustration Friday posts continue
Posted my third effort for the Illustrated Friday web site (Clumsy). Lots of fun using their word for the week as a jumping off point. Tried a little cartoon type this time rather than a realistic style. Still trying to work out the issues with posting the pictures so they are generally the same size. This comes from having to scan the artwork onto our Mac (has the scanner attached) saving the .jpg files into Photoshop for croping, repair of small errors etc, then saving to a memory stick, carry that to the PC and then load it on the IF website. Next time I may just try to do it all on the Mac.

Crystal Bridges
I have added a link to the Crystal Bridges Museum web site. This Museum, currently under construction in NW Arkansas, will become a premier draw for this part of the US. Log on to look at the construction photos, concept drawings, and other information about this world class museum of the arts.
