This was the Colored Pencil Magazine Challenge for July 2014. It was lot of fun and pushed me to think about how to sequence the colors to get to the transparency of the wings. I have been busy working on different techniques lately and even just finished a three day class in oils portraits from John Willer who is a well known and prolific artist here in the Eureka Springs area. Talk about pushing my envelope having never done any oil painting it was pretty daunting but I survived and learned a lot. Especially that I don't want to be a commissioned portrait painter!!!!! :-)
